Position Purpose:

To design in both detail and at a systems level, construct, test, implement and support application programs required to enhance the current Johnson Outdoors’ integrated Manufacturing, Distribution, and Financial business systems (i.e. JD Edwards), or interfaces to other applications supporting the Johnson Outdoors, Inc. businesses.  In addition, perform detail analysis of high level project specifications accomplished by working with both Business Analysts and clients.  Also support the Help Desk with analysis and resolution of internal and external issues.



 

Principal Accountabilities:

1.Code and testing of application programs in support of new applications, interfaces between applications, and conversion applications for new software implementations and upgrades.  Primary application will be JD Edwards ERP.

2. Ensure quality of applications by vigorously testing all possible business scenarios and strictly  adhering to the Johnson Outdoors, Inc. programming and architecture standards.

3. In conjunction with Senior Systems Analysts, perform detailed design tasks for enhancements and  interfaces to leverage Johnson Outdoors, Inc. resources as much as possible.

4.Develop estimates for all assigned project tasks.

5.Tracking and reporting of the status of all assigned application development tasks.

6.Participate in on-going application support, with responsibility for Johnson Outdoors, Inc. enterprise business applications.  Analyze and resolve issues as needed.

7.Provide technical guidance to internal and external programming and analyst resources to ensure all new application development is technically sound and best utilizes the Johnson Outdoors hardware and architecture.

8.Provide support and guidance to the Technical Services resources relating to the development and support needs of the application development group.

9. Develop high level project specifications into detailed programming specifications.

Knowledge & Background Requirements:

 

Minimum of three years experience in implementing and enhancing packaged software, JD Edwards Xe 7.3.3, required.

 

Experience in developing and testing system solutions in a Manufacturing and Distribution environment, preferably in the consumer products industry.

 

Strong technical skills, primarily in a Microsoft SQL Database environment.

 

Strong analytical skills, both business and systems.

 

Experience using structured methodologies and the MSOffice suite of products.

 

Bachelor Degree in related field. Associates Degree with minimum of 3 years additional experience is acceptable
