Production Supervisor - Welding

Job Description

Coordinates and directs a semi-skilled and/or complex work force in order to meet production schedules and meet required cost, quality and safety standards while driving world class manufacturing methodologies.  Manages and maintains the staffing in the department.  Conducts projects/reports that have a significant influence on the production function of the organization. 

* Supervises and directs the production of equipment welding, parts and components to meet production schedules
*  Maintains equipment and manpower in the department to meet productivity requirements
*  Maintains efficiency and utilization throughout the department via assigning and developing leads to help direct manpower and address productivity, process, and quality issues where needed
*  Checks time standards in conjunction with Manufacturing Engineering to maintain appropriate standards throughout the department
*  Maintains departmental adherence to high standards of safety and housekeeping in compliance with company policies and governmental regulations
*  Maintains positive employee and management relations within the guidelines of company policy
*  Directs all related personnel actions (selection, training, performance reviews, discipline, etc.) for production employees
*  Holds regular safety and communication meetings

Requirements

*  Must be willing to work 3rd shift
*  Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
*  2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment with preference in welding area
*  Demonstrated ability to use a PC
*  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*  Good analytical and problem solving skills
