Merchandiser
In partnership with America's growers, Bunge North America is the vital link that connects food producers, manufacturers and consumers worldwide. We are a leader in the North American food supply chain that extends from grain origination to the production of value-added food products for consumers. Bunge is seeking the talent of a Merchandiser in the Oilseed Processing Division to support our customers in the food service industry. This position will be based in Marion, OH.
Overview:
The primary function is to purchase soybeans and market soybean meal. This position is also responsible for the coordination of rail and truck logistics. This position requires good organization, coordination, and communication skills.
Essential Functions:Administer and adhere to all company, federal, state, and local purchasing/marketing practices, policies, procedures and regulationsProcure soybeans from farmers and elevatorsManage specialty bean program at the local levelManage rail and truck logisticsService customers in areas of market information, e-business, bids, hours, grade reporting and accounting issuesEvaluate and report changing crops and market conditions to appropriate company personnel in a timely and accurate mannerLeadership: Demonstrate the following core values and guiding behaviors which are expected of all employees at Bunge North America: Integrity, Openness and Trust, Teamwork, Commitment, Entrepreneurship and Farmer/ Customer FocusThe Merchandiser will also perform other duties as assigned and recognize that priorities can and will likely shift quickly to adjust to the demands of other departments for the overall benefit of the organization
Skill/Experience Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Business or Agriculture Economics or related fieldTwo to five years experience in an Agriculture-related fieldWorking knowledge of cash commodity trading and CBOTSales knowledge and negotiations skillsExcellent communications skills are a mustExcellent customer service skillsTimeliness and accuracy are criticalAbility to learn and apply knowledge quicklyProficient PC skills
