MANAGER of REGULATORY AFFAIRS An innovative company that serves animal agriculture and companion animal industry throughout the world is searching for a MANAGER OF REGULARLY AFFAIRS who has International experience, with Quality background preferred.  This position reports directly to the VP of Quality Assurance at their Corporate Headquarters in Ankeny, IA.RESPONSIBILITY:Proactively manage the domestic and international regulatory affairs processes to enhance strategic sales opportunities and mitigate business risks.  This will include completing necessary regulatory documents, organizing reapplication work and leading compliance efforts. This individual will represent the company with key government officials and decision makers. JOB DUTIES:· Proactively manage regulatory affairs as directed by upper management.· Develop and maintain positive relationships with domestic and international individuals working in regulatory positions within the government and other influential organizations.· Take a leadership role in influencing and educating key stakeholders in policy decision matters.· Complete all regulatory document requirements in a timely manner.· Create and maintain a calendar of regulatory application and renewal dates.· Stay abreast of APC business strategy to allow the business to take advantage of available markets by having regulatory requirements completed.· Track by plant and product, which countries APC has met regulatory requirements in.· Communicate regulatory requirements to operations and upper management within APC.· Stay abreast of changing regulatory requirements in the marketplace.· Interpret new policies and regulations and explain their impact to management as appropriate.· Work with operations to ensure product specifications meet regulatory requirements.· Assist Sales and Marketing with the forecasting and sales strategy processes based on the regulatory landscape and potential to access new markets.· Maintain a working knowledge of APC Quality standards and processes.· Identify and advise necessary steps to mitigate risks associated with vendors and other key constituencies.  · Work with R&D on new processes as needed to maintain regulatory compliance and open new market potential.  · Any other duties as assigned by the VP of Quality Assurance. JOB QUALIFICATIONS· BS/BA science discipline, business management, or quality sciences.  Graduate degree is a plus.· >8yrs Regulatory experienceo  >2 yrs International Regulatory experienceo  Background in the Quality discipline is a plus.· May be required to travel to production plants and/or another country in a variety of weather conditions. JOB REQUIREMENTS· Ability to behave in a professional manner.· High attention to detail· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with personnel, contractors, vendors, suppliers, customers, and other business related contacts.· Ability to work well in a team environment, coordinating job duties with others.· Ability to develop positive, influential relationships with policy makers and subject matter experts.· Ability to engage and navigate technical, bureaucratic processes in a timely manner.· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality related to all duties and responsibilities of vendors and customers.· Knowledge of organizational methods and the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.· Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision or direction.· Ability to operate all necessary office equipment required to accomplish job duties, such as, computers, typewriters, telephones, fax machines, etc.· Ability to understand, analyze, interpret and communicate complex government rules & regulations, and technical information as well as present the information to APC, Inc. personnel, customers, etc.· Ability to use mathematical, chemical, and cost analysis when necessary in the performance of duties.· Ability to understand process and product testing procedures employed by APC, Inc. including chemical, microbiological and physiological tests.· Ability to think, work, organize and handle responsibility on your own with minimal support staff or personnel.· Ability to travel internationally and domestically and change schedule as required.· Working conditions vary.  A portion of the job duties occur within a general office environment while other job duties occur within the pilot or manufacturing plant setting with exposure to acidic and alkaline substances.  Additional exposures include biohazards, odor, noise, dust, moving machinery, and occasional contact with hazardous chemicals. Contact; nancy@mrkinston.com MRINetwork, one of the world's largest search and recruitment organizations, has over 1,000 offices in more than 35 countries.
