We are in search of a MS DBA. This position requires an understanding of relational data base concepts and experience working in a data warehouse environment. You will develop MS SQL solutions translating business processes and requirements into a data base architecture in a small team demanding flexibility and self direction. You will be the only DBA assigned to this new, industry leading client and will help create the standards to which all of our existing databases will be migrated.
Responsibilities/Skills:
· Performing logical and physical data modeling as well as assessing business rules.
· Implementing physical database objects, managing data, building/extending toolsets.
· Developing optimized stored procedures to solve complex problems; tune databases and systems for peak performance; implement databases in a Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 environment.
· Using ETL tools to move data between databases.
- Maintaining database mapping within Microstrategy reporting system
- Implementing analysis services
· The Database Developer will work with other disciplines (Program Management, Test Team, Technical Operations, other Software Development Engineers, and various business owners) in implementation of analytical and technical solutions; review project plans, development and test specifications; communicating implementation limitations; and data-driven solutions with all levels of project team and management.
· Minimum of 5 years of professional database modeling, design, development, and implementation experience in a mission critical OLTP environment.
· Experience with job scripting and scheduling technologies, such as Perl, VBScript, SQL Agent and DOS command is required.
· Knowledge of client/server and/or Internet technologies such as ASP, .Net, and C# also great to have, but in no way required.
· BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline preferred.
