This MAINTENANCE AREA LEADER position is located at Monsanto's Muscatine, Iowa chemical manufacturing facility. The Muscatine Plant has a rich history in the community and surrounding areas, and has been a premier employment provider for over 40 years. This plant is non-union and is the primary provider of Acetanilide herbicide products, and one of the largest producers of the herbicide Round-up® in the world. The scope of the Muscatine Maintenance Area Leader position includes all units of the plant. General responsibilities include maintenance work execution, cost management, and people development to provide high process reliability and ensure high environmental and safety performance.

Scope/Specific Responsibilities of the Position:
- Lead group of Maintenance Leaders, including Maintenance Managers, Advisors, and Coordinators to provide direction to Planners and Mechanical/EI Maintenance technicians in the efficient planning and execution of maintenance work
- Provide a broad level of coaching, counseling, guidance, policy interpretation, conflict resolution, etc. throughout the maintenance group and other peers / engineers
- Provide direction on Safety and Environmental focus areas, including both process safety and personnel behavioral safety activities
- Responsible for the continual improvement of the processes and key leverages
- Responsible for monitoring and cost management of maintenance budget
- Continue to implement the Plant Maintenance Strategy focused around the WCM (World Class Maintenance) model.
- Develop and monitor metrics to drive the Maintenance organization
- Unwavering commitment to Monsanto's business conduct and ESH values

In this role the successful candidate will possess the following experience/skills:
- B.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
- Leadership experience
- Experience in other maintenance, project or process engineering roles, or experience in a production position capacity
- Working knowledge of cost and financial impact analysis, Environmental & IH Standards
- Knowledge of KPIs & ability to analyze data & leverages
- Process Safety Standards
- Ability to understand, implement and administer HR policies.
