Flock Service Person
BASIC FUNCTIONS
Primarily responsible for partnering with the contracted growers, monitoring bird health and performance, and maintaining/ensuring compliance of standards for the company’s organic and natural products and processes. Maintains ability to provide quality chickens to the processing plant.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Directs the work of the contracted growers to ensure adherence to all company Growout programs.
· Completes weekly reports, providing information to the Growout Manager on bird health and performance.
· Collects and submits weight and mortality data weekly.
· Makes decisions and recommendations regarding bird health.
· Assists in the evaluation of vaccination programs including the drawing of blood samples.
· Assists in the evaluation of the coccidiosis control program.
· Assists in researching new products for organic/natural poultry, setting up and running trials to evaluate products.
· Demonstrates and applies excellent people skills to work closely with and develop strong relationships with contract growers.
· Complies with and effectively manage company policies and procedures.
· Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops departmental personnel.
· Assists with special projects as required.
