FOOD INDUSTRY SPECIALIST 14

DESCRIPTION: Food safety is the most critical function of the Michigan Department of Agriculture. While the majority of these complex activities resides within the Food and Dairy Division, food safety functions also occur in other divisions such as Animal Industry, Pesticide and Plant Pest Management, and Laboratory. This position is responsible for the development, design, evaluation and execution of the statewide food safety quality assurance program. The program ensures that: 1) Michigan meets federal food safety program standards, 2) That a continuous quality improvement process is in place and utilized, and 3) That resources are used to maximum effectiveness in meeting department food safety goals.
