Draftsman
We import a full line of Home Entertainment, Home Office and Dining furniture from several sources in Asia. We are seeking an individual to transform initial rough product designs into artistic, creative sketch renderings and ultimately working Auto CAD drawings. Candidate must have 2 yrs experience with necessary software and must have basic working knowledge of structural engineering and furniture construction. Creative, detail oriented and organized a must.
Duties
Prepares rough sketches from concept, idea, napkin drawings; creating a picture of the furniture for initial design steps Prepares final drawings from rough sketches/pictures based on specifications, creating components, and parts; drawing multiple view; depicting relationship of components and parts; identifying dimensions, angles, curvatures, tolerances, and materials. Identifies and verifies specifications by examining the structural stability of the product, determining the safety of the unit, suggesting ideas to make the product safe for home use. Modifies drawings by studying changes; redrawing system, components, and parts; Maintains data base of the Bill of Materials, ensure that BOM works with production systems Provide production support, create products for manufacturability, continuously improve on designs to make production process simpler Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
