BREEDING BUSINESS ANALYST
Monsanto is passionate about using science and technology to improve agriculture. Monsanto scientists are conducting the research and development (R&D) to revolutionize plant breeding and biotechnology. The Technology Pipeline Solutions (TPS) team within IT works directly with the Monsanto scientists to develop software platforms that enable these research and development efforts. Candidates with a strong background in science and PC proficient are highly desired for this position. The accepted candidate will join the emerging field of IT systems informatics leveraging their scientific training to play a key role in defining and delivering breakthrough science in high throughput R&D platforms for Monsanto.
The responsibilities of the BREEDING BUSINESS ANALYST are to develop, translate, and prioritize systems solutions for incorporation into software used by our Research and Development (Technology) organizations. This position will work in a liaison relationship with our multi-functional, multi-crop Technology organization, our research labs, and our information technology organization. The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to successfully partner with the Technology organizations to understand the opportunities, identify systems solutions, and define requirements for software platform development. In addition, the candidate must successfully interact with software developers, technical architects, business analysts, testers and support personnel to develop, deploy and support these solutions.
Required Skills/Experience:
BS degree required. MS or PhD in Agronomy, Plant Breeding, Molecular Breeding, Plant Science, Genetics, Statistics, or Chemistry and/or previous work experience in a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or agricultural industry highly desired. Candidate must be PC proficient, have strong organizational skills, written and oral communication skills and problem solving skills.
