Accountant

Overview:

Responsible for all accounting aspects of the Grain Division Container Program.  This includes container settlements, general ledger account analysis, journal entries, reconciliations, expense accruals and month end processes.

 

Major Responsibilities:

· Assemble necessary documents for container settlement

· Prepare and track all container related expense accruals at settlement time

· Check container settlements for accuracy

· Work closely with the container documentation/logistics and trading groups

· Responsible for accurately coding expense invoices and monitoring against related accruals

· Perform month end bushel balancing and position verifications

· Analyze and reconcile container month end P&L’s to trader’s estimate

· Maintain the general ledger and journal entries, including account analysis, reconciliation and research

· Perform other duties as assigned to meet the shifting priorities of the department for the overall benefit of the organization

 

Skill/Experience Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field required

· Three years experience in related field preferred

· Good organizational, problem solving and PC skills

· Knowledge of basic computer programs (Excel, Word) required

· Knowledge of SAP, Agris, and GTS preferred

· Detail-oriented and motivated to work in growing environment

· Self Starter with strong time management skills with the ability to work within a team environment

· Good problem solving and communication skills
