Sr Manager, Contracts
Intro: General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products is a proven solutions integrator of defense products for all branches of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). We have strong technology positions on key programs that are aligned with homeland defense and DoD's transformation initiatives. Our company is an industry leader in composites technology and production, chem/bio detection, protection systems, and integrated armament products for land, air and sea. Job Responsibilities: A minimum of 12 years experience in Government contracting at the prime and/or lower tier levels, with sound knowledge of regulations and processes, is needed for this senior-level management position. Solid experience in Commercial contracting (representing the selling side) is also strongly desired. Must have demonstrated experience with drafting, negotiating and managing contracts issued under the Federal Acquisition Regulations, as well as substantial experience in the bid and proposal process selling to Government agencies and their prime contractors, especially DoD. Candidate should have DoD Weapons System contractor experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment desired.This is not a procurement position. Procurement skills only (that is, buying only) will not be sufficient to qualify for this position.Required Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a business-related discipline. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.Evidence of continuing professional education and development a plus.Required Work Experience: A minimum of 12 years experience in Government and commercial contract policy administration, with knowledge of regulations and processes is needed for this senior-level management position. Must have demonstrated experience with drafting, negotiating and managing contracts issued under the Federal Acquision Regulations. Candidate must have DoD Weapons System contractor experienceOther Desirable Requirements: Superb oral and written communication skills. Sound computer skills (i.e. spreadsheets, word processing, databases). Active involvement in NCMA or other professional organizations. Demonstrated commitment to professionally-related self-study and/or self-improvement. Understanding of Government Acquisition Reform Initiatives. Successful experience with REAs and claims.
