Purchasing Assistant

Job Purpose:


Job requirements are verifying, preparing, and issuing purchase orders under the direct supervision of the purchasing manager for an aerospace parts manufacturer. 



Duties:


* Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders.

* Accurate product drawing interpretation.

* Scheduling and updating deliveries, monitoring overall supplier performance.

* Responding to Sales Department requests for pricing and delivery.

* Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price under direction of purchasing manager.

* Resolves shipments in error with suppliers.

* Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents electronically.

* Position will grow into purchasing planning and control including collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
