Electrical/Fire Control System Engineer

The company designs and builds armored vehicles and subsystems for the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, and international customers, and is the defense industry's largest supplier of armored military vehicles.Description of Work: Position of Electrical/Fire Control System Engineer (Engineering Family) Duties to include the following: - Development, integration and test of electronic hardware for military combat vehicles and naval ships. - Experience with the engineering process and resources, such as, modeling tools, labs and test equipment. - Should be capable of developing system test procedures and conducting system level hardware/software integration testing required. - Should have hands-on experience with system integration troubleshooting in lab and on vehicle using analyzers and other computer based tools. - Work with vendors and other product development teams to insure requirement and design compliance. - Candidate should be familiar with weapon station technology Gyros, thermal systems, control systems, Job Requirements: - Primarily work in an office and lab environment, however work in the field on military vehicles will be required at times. - Familiarity with Weapon Fire Control Systems or Navy ships is a plus. - Obtaining a security clearance will be required for this position. - Travel will be necessary on occasion. - Communications skills necessary to work in a small multi-disciplined engineering team. - Electronic Hardware, VME Chassis, Circuit Card, Daughter Board/Mother Board. - Familiar with Military Qualification Testing. - Field Test, instrumentation, data acquisition and signal processing. - Design and optimization of embedded real-time control and stabilization systems. - Experience with Electro-optics, Lasers and/or Thermal Imaging technology - Familiar with control system theoryRequired Education: BSSubmit Your Resume Online NowGeneral Dynamics Land Systems is an Equal Opportunity Employer Job Title:   Electrical/Fire Control System Engineer Location:   Northern Job Category:   Engineering Requisition Number:   AAA-LV-08-6659 Career Level:   Experienced (Non-Manager)
