Electroimpact Inc. of Mukilteo, WA has an opening for a Controls Engineer. The job is entry level as well as with experience.

We are integrating custom machine tools using the Fanuc 30i CNC for Boeing, Airbus and other aerospace clients. Experience with either CNCs or PLCs is acceptable. We prefer the Siemens Step 7 PLC series but experience with any PLC is desirable. We also program robotic systems and write post processors. Experience with machine tools and/or articulated robots is desired. Experience with offline programming/simulation packages (Delmia, etc.) is also desired. After gaining experience we are hoping to develop an engineer that can perform alone in the factory programming, debug and repair of complex machine tools.

A specialty is CNC auto-riveting machines. These are used for the manufacture of aircraft. We also manufacture Automatic Fiber Placement machines used for building the latest generation of composite aircraft.

The company was founded in 1986 by Dr. Peter Zieve as a haven for engineers with a broad range of skills and experience. An applicant will typically have worked on cars, run machine tools or had some other experience that shows knowledge which predates and give focus to an engineering education. Our current staff of controls engineers all have a four year engineering degree.

Electroimpact specializes in the design, manufacture and installation of complex multi-axis fastening machines and automated tooling for the global aircraft industry. Originally specializing in the design of electromagnetic riveting equipment Electroimpact has grown to be one of the largest systems integrators of aircraft assembly solutions internationally. A significant customer base with major airframe constructors provides Electroimpact with projects throughout the world. From small R&D driven projects to jumbo jet final assembly jigs, Electroimpact has the capabilities to provide new and creative manufacturing solutions for the rapidly changing aircraft industry.

Electroimpact is an engineer driven organization that seeks individuals with strong communication skills coupled with a solid engineering background. Self-motivated individuals with a desire to learn, apply and create can thrive and prosper in a environment that has few boundaries and rewards imaginative solutions. We look for individuals who intend to be intimately involved in the product lifecycle from system conceptualization to in-service application and all points in between. With a strong history of engineers who can build what they create; we look for people with the aptitude to design on the screen and apply in the field. Qualified applicants must have a solid education base in machine design and manufacturing processes. Extra-curricular experience in some type of hands-on environment is of significant benefit. Basic CAD skills are required, but training will be provided on the latest solid modeling platforms. Most projects are based in Mukilteo but applicant must be willing to travel to support integration efforts and warranty work. Travel opportunities are to the UK, Japan, China and Australia.

Electroimpact is 100% owned by engineers that work in the business. At Electroimpact the engineer is involved in every aspect of a project including conception, selling, business, designing, manufacturing, integration, shipping, installing and factory support. The engineer is in communication with and is directly responsible to the customer/user. For the avoidance of doubt, we employ 180 engineers, zero salesmen and zero businessmen. Only apply if you are able to begin work within 60 days and if you are willing to permanently locate within 45 minutes travel to Mukilteo, WA. Apply through the website or by e-mail to ctrjobs@Electroimpact.com . In the body of the e-mail (no attachments please) state all of the following:
