Aerospace & Defense Account Manager # 308027

LORD Corporation, a privately held corporation with over $725 million in sales and a leader in the development, manufacture, and marketing of innovative adhesives, coating and motion management products, is looking for an Aerospace & Defense Account Manager in the Seattle, WA location

 

FUNCTION

The incumbent reports to the Marketing and Sales Manager, Aftermarket and Distribution and will be responsible for supporting Fixed Wing OEM, airlines and aftermarket market development for Aerospace & Defense group. The incumbent provides technical support to Boeing, tier 1 suppliers, and distributors on the west coast and mid-west area. Responsibilities include maintaining existing sales and identifying prospective new customers through both distribution/direct channels. New business must be generated to meet sales goals annually. The incumbent must aggresively work to develop new LORD applications at existing accounts, as well as work to acquire approvals of existing products at new accounts. The incumbent will also work with other cross-functional groups within A&D to identify, evaluate and commercialize new products and technologies to existing and new accounts. Market and competitive intelligence will be gathered and communicated. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to create and deliver effective presentation and the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.  Overnight travel is anticipated at 40%.

 

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

B.S. Technical degree and sales/marketing experience and minimum 5 years experience in aerospace and defense industry. Tha candidate must have experience developing and managing accounts through distribution. Must be assertive, a self-starter, have strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate competence in effective account/dsitribution leadership and territoy management. ability to operate a laptop computer with basic knowledge of MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to exercise sound business judgment as well as make and implement decisions.  Valid driver’s license is required.

 

NON-MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

B.S. degree and/or eight to ten years direct technical marketing experience selling in Aerospace and Defense markets. Prior background in the management of distributor principals and large aircraft development programs. Experience working from an in-home office.
