Team Assistant is an entry-level position at Weber Shandwick. A Team Assistant supports multiple account teams and must be able to efficiently service each of these teams. Team Assistants must have excellent organizational skills and be able to adapt to multiple assignments and deadlines as well as an environment that changes frequently. The focus of the position is on managing and developing media lists, editorial calendars, speaking calendars, clip reports, briefing materials, etc.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

ClientProactive in understanding the clients' businessFamiliar with key client contacts and clear understanding of clients' organizational structureHave a clear understanding of clients' organizational structureSchedule and coordinate client meetings; keep participants advised of any changesMaintain adequate supply of client-related materials and documentsInteract with client as deemed necessary by account team leader

 

MediaDraft media relations materialsDevelop and maintain media contact lists and databasesContinually update knowledge of new mediaResearch and maintain speaking/editorial opportunities and calendarsScan daily, weekly, monthly and on-line publications to identify client-relevant media coverage, including competitive market and industry information

 

WritingDraft basic press releases, pitch letters, and briefing documentsProof and edit internal and external documentsPrepare clip reports and summaries as needed by team and client

 

Administrative SupportManage monthly client billing processTrack/enter time with precision and on a day-to-day basisCross-reference, approve, and forward invoices to the Accounting DepartmentArrange travelCoordinate mass mailingsPerform other administrative tasks as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS
EducationBachelor's Degree or equivalent

 

Professional Experience Internship experience highly desired in public relations or related environment
