Sr. Account Executive - Consumer Marketing / Waggener Edstrom Worldwide

Responsibilities:

• Lead new business pursuits and lead generation for the Consumer Practice.  New business experience and existing relationships/contacts are a plus.

• Eventually will manage day-to-day client relationships and provide strategic counsel and insight.

• Have active understanding and awareness of issues, marketing objectives and products to provide strategic planning and counsel to our consumer clients.

• Develop and present PR plans and new business pitches that clarify business goals, situation analysis, challenges, solutions, measurement criteria and fiscal planning. Serve as day-to-day contact with press and analysts on client’s behalf. Research, understand and anticipate influential's interests, needs and preferences to provide value-added service to editors, to brief clients, and to ultimately build relationships.

• Represent the Consumer Practice in industry events, networking opportunities, etc. 

• Proactively negotiate client inclusion in coverage. Propose story ideas (timing and content), benchmark criteria for product reviews, schedule meetings, educate and shape opinions on broader marketplace themes. Solicit feedback from influentials regarding their perception of your client/s, competition and industry position.

• Facilitate press meetings, lead press/analyst tours and/or events.

 

Qualifications:

Education

• Bachelors degree or above in communications, journalism or related field preferred Experience Preferred

• At least 4 years experience in PR, preferably in an agency setting and/or within the consumer industry.

•  5-6 years experience preferred.

• Demonstrated understanding of what the media values

• Has established editor, blogger and/or analyst relationships and has proactively placed stories • At least 3 years managing a client relationship

• At least 1-2 years experience managing individuals or a team

• Has presented to new business prospects and has experience in responding to RFPs and RFIs.

• Worked under client and influential deadlines • Has written and developed press materials

• Developed and executed a PR plan/s

• Conducted press meetings and/or led a press tour
