Required Experience: Bachelor’s Degree Four years of professional public relations experience News media relations experience within the Charleston/Huntington and Parkersburg DMA’s Experience working collaboratively with 3rd parties on behalf of a client or an employer Superior written and verbal communication skills and mastery of AP style
Let’s Start the Conversation if You… Are a self-motivated and knowledgeable public relations practitioner with an entrepreneurial mindset but works well on a team. Excel at and have experience in delivering verbal presentations to all sizes of groups – internal and external. Are a skilled Networker who can also come back to the Parkersburg office if needed and get the job done from start-to-finish. Can perform the execution of day-to-day client public relations campaign and project responsibilities on behalf of multiple McDonald’s clients, prioritizing and managing high volume of detailed work while providing excellent client service. Are skilled at developing and maintaining relationships and working collaboratively with key influencers and influential organizations that affect the clients’ business in the local markets. These include but are not limited to local and state government agencies and personnel, health, community, civic organizations, minority community leaders, etc. Can lead and execute all local media relations and news relationship-building and pitching efforts. Are skilled in developing, executing and managing all aspects of community relations, including the implementation of national and grassroots PR programs and campaigns. Can lead and execute PR and social responsibility strategy on client’s behalf while proactively managing issues, seeking out opportunities through a strategic influencer outreach plan. Can effectively manage crises on behalf of clients, in cooperation with the McDonald’s Pittsburgh Region. Can be a thought-leader on PR and McDonald’s PR best practices, as well as stay informed of public relations industry and clients’ industry dynamics. Stay abreast of client and community happenings, potential pitfalls and opportunities through industry, business, political and community publications and networking on a continual basis. Are skilled in working with consumer generated and social media and regularly seek out new opportunities for your clients within the social media landscape. Are able to think strategically and see the big picture, as well as implement all the details on a granular level.
Let’s Keep Talking if You… Can hit the ground running and jump into a role as the team and market lead for public relations, while being fully integrated with your advertising/promotions counterparts. Are an über multi-tasker; able to prioritize and manage a high volume of detailed work including… Juggling working with multiple franchisee clients, along with corporate clients. Demonstrating a team player attitude by being flexible and responsible, self-motivated and resourceful. Managing time efficiently and show enthusiasm for the agency, our clients and the business. Controlling all G&A expenses as allowable. Providing continual updates and input to supervisor and team on projects and progress, plus continual feedback on self, team and client business. Actively participating in weekly account service/PR calibration meetings. Have excellent written and verbal communications skills and can write marketing presentations. Can handle general administrative duties of day-to-day client PR activities, including usage of VOCUS, Factiva, client billing and PR budget management. Can execute and oversee PR-specific creative production, as requested. Candidates who live in the Charleston/Huntington area and want to office out of their homes will be considered. Regular, weekly, travel to the Parkersburg office will be required.
Perk: You can work from home. This position can work from home if you are in another area within West Virginia, Ohio, or Kentucky; one hour away or more from Parkersburg, as long as you have extremely reliable transportation.

Your Supervisor: You’ll be reporting to the Account Supervisor and Account Director on the Parkersburg, Bluefield/Beckley and Charleston/Huntington McDonald’s accounts. If you get results, have great follow-through and prove yourself to be capable, you will earn their total confidence and have 100% of their support. They will proudly back up your decisions, and will look for opportunities for you to excel and grow in your career at Moroch.
Travel: 30% within 3 hours driving distance, occasional overnights
Education/Training & Professional Development: We’ll give you the tools, best practices, and public relations and overall marketing industry resources. You’ll also learn from some of the best and brightest folks in the agency business. In turn, you have opportunities to share your knowledge with others, exert your proactive spirit and be a part of Moroch McDonald’s Account Service, one of the fastest growing and one of the most important teams within the Moroch system.

Internal Networking: McDonald’s field PR support system and structure allows daily interaction with your fellow Moroch PR professionals serving on the McDonald’s account in our offices across the U.S. There are also monthly calls with the Moroch PR Team, where those in the Moroch PR network talk about best practices and recommendations on how to execute national, regional and local plans. There’s an agenda but best practices sharing and feedback is encouraged throughout.
