Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.Summary of Key Responsibilities Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: · Preparation, coordination, review and consolidation of quarterly and annual tax provision. · Forecasting tax provisions and FIN 48 adjustments. · Prepares and reviews consolidated federal and state income tax returns and supporting schedules. Compiles data needed to complete tax returns, computes state apportionment and calculates estimated tax payments.  Complete research and analysis to incorporate law changes into tax filings. · Preparation of tax footnote and financial statement disclosures in SEC filings. · Assists with Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and controls. · Assists with income tax planning. Conducts research and assists with scope definition and project implementation. Compiles data, reviews and analyzes financial information, develops decision models and creates documentation to assist with tax projects. · Assists with income tax audits to ensure Starbucks compliance with tax laws. Prepares documentation and evaluates proposed adjustments. · Communicates with Starbucks partners and external parties regarding tax issues. · Maintains tax software systems and ensures usability of data from systems throughout the company. Identifies opportunities for increased efficiencies and accuracy. Summary of Experience Tax experience in public accounting or in private industry (4-5 years) Preparing consolidated federal and state income tax returns (2-3 years) FAS 109 experience (2-3 years) Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines Attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic skills in Microsoft Word Organizational skills Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel Ability to assimilate new information quickly and react positively to new and challenging opportunities View all "Starbucks Coffee Company" jobs
