Vice President of Taxation!

Our client is looking for a strong leader with the following background

Vice President of Taxation!

Responsibilities
· Lead the tax function of the company.
· Ensure compliance with Federal, state and local tax laws.
· Provide for the proper accounting and analysis of the tax effects of certain transactions.
· Lead the settlement of disputes with taxing authorities at minimum cost to the company.
· Define and establish timetables to provide for compliance with various tax due dates for returns, estimated payments, etc.
· Prepare federal tax provision.
· Prepare and document estimated tax payments and monthly tax provisions.
· Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns.
· Oversee preparation of sales/use tax returns.
· Oversee payroll tax information and facilitate filings of payroll tax returns.
· Reconcile various tax related general ledger accounts.
· Oversee the preparation of annual 1099 filings.
· Manage the retention and preparation of tax records, tax returns, and other required reports
· Coordinate and prepare payroll related updates for relocation, leased vehicle usage and any related tax gross-ups.
· Oversee the preparation and documentation of property tax payments, reconciliation of property tax accounts.
· Utilizing tax and financial accounting skills, calculate tax provisions for the preparation of annual/quarterly financial statement disclosures. This involves continually updating knowledge with regard to GAAP and proper implementation of current tax legislation.
· Using analytical abilities, research issues in tax laws that include a variety of viewpoints and interpretations. Build and maintain a favorable position based on facts compiled to legally minimize tax burden. This applies to filing tax returns, responding to in-house questions and resolving audits.

 

Skills / Requirements

Education/Skills/Experience:

·  CPA required; MS in Taxation preferred.

·  7+ years of Tax experience, with increased responsibilities leading into a managerial role.

·  4-year college degree.

·  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, CCH, SOX, Oracle and Great Plains Systems.

·  Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·  Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

·  Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
