Tax Senior Consultant - National Federal There is a tax implication for almost every transaction a company undertakes, from trading to acquisition to offshoring. Even the most sophisticated global companies often struggle with balancing compliance details and long-term tax strategy. The tax specialists of Deloitte Tax LLP ("Deloitte Tax") have the perspective to help companies understand national, state and local and international tax structures and align the tax function with business objectives. The Deloitte Tax professionals of the National Federal Tax Services practice work with local office Deloitte Tax professionals to assist clients with fundamental tax planning and analysis. These Federal tax professionals work to understand company-specific business and tax issues and work with the company to optimize its tax position and identify and mitigate risk areas. Tax Seniors have in-depth, first-hand experience in a wide range of industries. They draw on expertise in accounting and taxation to identify tax planning opportunities toour clients. Seniors identify complex tax issues, communicate the issues to the engagement team, assist with the resolution of issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Our Seniors' primary responsibilities in the National Federal Tax Services Group include overseeing tax consulting projects which will include complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries; research and analysis of a wide range of tax issues encountered on our engagements, and spending a large amount of time at client locations. In addition, our tax seniors assume tax-planning responsibilities for our federal clients and supervise assignments by the professional accountants serving as Consultants. Tax Seniors working in the National Federal Tax Services Group will work exclusively in one of the following areas: - Strategic Tax Advisory Team - STAT - Inventory Strategies, Improvements & Solutions - ISIS - Meals & Entertainment - M&E - Earnings & Profits - E300 - Post Merger Implementation - PMI - Partnership Solutions - Transaction Cost Recovery Strategies - TCRS - Production Activity Solutions - PAS - Tax Accounting Services - TAS - Research & Development - R&D All of our Tax Seniors can participate in a formal rotation program which will allow them to spend significant time in all of our service lines, thus enhancing their federal tax technical development and knowledge. - Four or more years experience in providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and income tax returns - Knowledge of managing projects including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence and billing, excellent technology, research and writing skills - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other business related field - CPA, Enrolled Agent or other appropriate certification (or in the process of pursuing) - Advanced Degree preferred: MST, MAcc,JD or LL.M - Prior Big 4 experience a plus About DeloitteDeloitte refers to one or more of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, a Swiss Verein, and its network of member firms, each of which is a legally separate and independent entity.
