These organizations face a host of issues: the impact of managed care, new therapeutic discoveries, revolution in research and development and drug discovery, securing patents and intellectual property protection, evolution of the biotech sector, emergence of the specialty and generic sectors, access to capital, royalty and revenue recovery, mergers and acquisitions, shifting markets and sources, worldwide efforts to control health care costs, and an evolving regulatory and compliance environment.   Our Enterprise Risk Services Life Sciences practice can play a strategic role in the risk management process and provide a disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of an organization's risk management, controls, and governance processes.  We work with our clients on many issues, including: - Auditing and Assurance - Risk Management - Strategic Alliances and Collaborations - Corporate Governance, Internal Control and Sarbanes-Oxley Accountability - Intellectual Property Protection We are currently seeking a Life Science subject matter expert with deep industry knowledge and technical expertise in audit, internal audit, and/or IT audit to help drive growth in services, revenue and market share.     Job Duties: - Provide Life Science industry subject matter expertise to clients and Deloitte staff. - Partner with leadership team to create and expand industry relationships. - Meet assigned sales target/team sales targets. - Develop proposals - Play lead role in client retention, relationship building, and communication. - Play lead role in internal and external communication/deliverable quality including technical content of reports, proposals, etc. - Provide engagement management and/or participate in development of methodology - Play lead role in management planning, economics, and billing. - Understand complex business and information technology management processes.  -  Execute advanced services and supervise staff in delivering basic services. - Assist in the selection and tailoring of approaches, methods and tools to support service offering or industry projects. - Membership and visibility in professional & civic organizations. - Responsible for oversight or advisee training and development program - Mold the individuals on the engagement into a team. - Publication in designated areas - Public speaking - Participate in training efforts. - Evaluate, counsel, mentor and provide feedback on performance of others - Play substantive/lead role in retention of professionals and in building staff complement, mix, and recruiting - Play substantive/lead role in developing a strong relationship with internal resourcesQualifications: - 15+ years experience with internal controls, risk assessments, business process and internal IT control testing or operational auditing. - 6+ years Life Science industry experience preferably in an audit and/or compliance role. - Deep understanding of Life Science regulatory controls and compliance including solid understanding of FDA requirements. - Strong technical, analytical, interpersonal, communication, and management experience. - Strong background in auditing techniques and/or computer control environments. - Successful experience identifying controls, developing and executing test plans. - Line operations experience and a demonstrated, innovative approach to internal and regulatory auditing as a consultative service is a distinct plus. - BA/BS in Business Administration, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems Administration or related field. - Prior consulting /Big 5 experience required - CPA, CIA©, CISA, or CFE required - Willingness to travel About DeloitteDeloitte refers to one or more of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, a Swiss Verein, and its network of member firms, each of which is a legally separate and independent entity.
