Senior Associate - Federal Tax

We are currently seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join us in our Anchorage office. KPMG's Federal Tax Services practice is a resource for clients that need help complying with the latest IRS rules and regulations. Our tax professionals who handle federal tax issues bring the experience and commitment necessary to deliver tax compliance and advisory services to help meet our clients' specific needs. KPMG's Federal Tax Services Practice offers a broad range of capabilities in the following areas: * Compliance and Advisory Services: comprehensive day-to-day tax advisory services, tax compliance services, regulatory representation, and tax provision preparation and review * Accounting Methods and Credit Services: tax accounting services, research and experimentation tax credit review, and fixed asset review * Mergers and Acquisitions: due diligence, acquisition and disposition tax planning, and services related to troubled companies * Tax Controversy Services: tax court services and alternative dispute resolution services * Tax Management Services: tax operational analysis, tax outsourcing, and tax technology * Tax Planning for Tax-Exempt Organizations: tax management, transactions and reorganizations, advocacy, and compliance Responsibilities: * Review and advise clients regarding corporate, partnership, multi-state and consolidation tax issues * Work in a multi-disciplinary team * Stay current on the latest tax practices * Provide industry knowledge and experience to clients and co-workers * Develop and train staff level team members * Compile and review tax returns and financial statement tax provisions * Conduct tax research and planning Qualifications: * Two years of experience with the following: Federal corporate income tax preparation/review, tax planning provision, and plan presentation * Industry experience including one or more of the following areas: Financial Services, Manufacturing, Retail, Distribution, Information Technology (IT), Communication or Entertainment * Strong skills in reviewing 1120 tax returns * Knowledge of IRS codes and corporate tax matters * Strong research and organizational skills * BA/BS degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited college/university KPMG offers and supports flexible work arrangements as well as part-time schedules.
