Senior Associate, Audit
KPMG LLP provides audit, tax and advisory services to a broad range of clients. We are currently seeking an Audit Associate/Senior Associate to join us in our Anchorage office. KPMG's Audit practice uses a methodology that transforms the audit process from a traditional compliance-driven function to a risk-based approach by creating a framework for auditors to assess how a client's business risks affect financial statements. This approach offers a more comprehensive view of how a client's unique risk environment affects its financial reporting. Responsibilities for both Positions: * Execute the day-to-day activities of audit engagements of various clients, including Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registrants * Identify and communicate accounting and auditing matters to Senior Associates, Managers and Partners * Identify performance improvement opportunities * Interact with clients to help ensure that the information flow from the client to the audit team is efficient * Understand and utilize KPMG's Audit Methodology Additional Responsibilities for Senior Associate: * Supervise the audit staff assigned to engagements, including completing performance reviews * Work with the audit team to develop hourly budgets and fee analysis Qualifications for both Positions: * One year of recent audit experience in public accounting * BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university * Eligible to sit for the CPA exam * Applied working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting procedures * Able to meet challenging client requirements, provide services, and possess strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and research abilities * Strong knowledge and experience of audits in the Consumer and Industrial markets * Able to travel Additional Qualification for Senior Associate: * Two years of recent audit experience in public accounting KPMG offers and supports flexible work arrangements as well as part-time schedules.
