Salary/Wage: 65,000.00 - 75,000.00 /year Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Accounting/Finance/Insurance Relevant Work Experience: 2+ to 5 Years Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Contact Information Email: Apply by Email Reference Code: San Diego.19832 Position DescriptionSenior Accountant, CPA Primary Purpose:Our Client is looking for a Senior Accountant that is responsible for completing a variety of higher level corporate accounting functions that are timely, accurate and in compliance with company, agency, state and federal regulations and law. Working with limited supervision the Sr. Accountant demonstrates generally self-directed work, in which errors could have major impact to the company. The position may work with non-US subsidiaries, international accounting and or foreign exchange functions. This position is primarily responsible for inventory accounting, including working with Revenue Accountant on Oracle inventory module implementation, coding AP invoices for domestic operating companies, reviewing results of operations for Development Cost Centers, preparing accruals for P.O. and Non P.O. items, allocating facilities costs, account reconciliations, preparing and posting journal entries. Under limited direction from the Accounting Manager, this position will also work on higher level reconciliation and analysis for Inventory and other month end close processes, as required. Summary of Key Responsibilities: Conduct analysis on Inventory on a quarterly basis for correct reserve for obsolescence. Prepare high level reconciliations including, but not limited to, inventory, AP accruals, discretionary operational expenses, etc. Assist Accounting Manager with month-end close processing. Reconcile sub-ledgers on a monthly basis. Maintain accounting records. Perform accounting related research. Support audit requests on a quarterly and annual basis. Special projects as assigned.Technical and Functional Skills Required: 5 years of general accounting experience or experience in a Finance organization. BA/BS degree in Accounting or Business Administration or related field, or equivalent of experience and coursework. Demonstrated experience conducting reconciliations and month-end close. Excellent computer skills including Advanced Excel knowledge, keyboarding and knowledge of database systems, including report-writing skills. Strong working knowledge of GAAP. Experience with revenue recongnition and leasing.
