Senior Accountant

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present and expected operations. Assists Controller in preparing budgets and necessary supporting documentation and justification. Coordinates documentation of capital asset acquisitions, dispositions and depreciation.  Records transactions in fixed asset accounting program. Assists Controller in interpreting job specifications relating to state sales/use tax, communicating results to assure accurate setup of job in accounting software, vendors and subcontractors are paid correctly, customers are billed correctly and state and local government reporting is correct. Reviews insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities and coordinates with appropriate staff. Prepares consolidated balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports in accordance with local and federal regulations including GAAP. Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses and provide management with timely review of data. Complete general ledger analysis of accounts. Reconcile payroll accounts Maintain accrual and prepaid accounts Process miscellaneous GL cash and credit card receipts Participate in month-end closing activities and prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliation Maintain supporting documentation for audits Perform ad hoc financial and operational analysis and reporting Protect the confidentiality of sensitive and/or proprietary company information.
