Can you define business strategies clearly, from operational data? Do you insist on ranking qualitative objectives? Can you quantify success criteria, and then prepare meaningful presentations to impress management with your business acumen? Classmates.com seeks a skillful, flexible & intelligent web business analyst. Responsibilities: Handle all manner of large commercial website metrics, challenges and opportunities, with changes occurring daily. Drive the analysis of our key transactional metrics to help grow our business. Define and monitor overall business unit’s health. Evolve forecast model and metrics over time. The Job Requirements: · Familiar with a variety of financial forecasting concepts, practices, and procedures · Highly skilled in using tools such as Excel and Access/SQL to extract/analyze data. Ability to organize and present findings in a clear format for business owners and executives. Solid knowledge of online testing techniques and statistical techniques Experience using Web Analytics and Business Intelligence tools like Omniture and Microstrategy preferred. · BA/BS in Finance, Mathematics, or Marketing. The Job Requirements: Analyze and evaluate performance data including advertising, direct marketing, web analytics, and promotional campaigns. Define and monitor overall business unit’s health. Define and analyze operating results and improve member acquisition, conversion and retention processes. Evolve business model and metrics over time. Distill and share learnings across the Classmates organization. Qualifications: Strong data orientation: Excel power user, modeling, pivot tables, etc. You think RPN is great and own an HP12C. Better still, you have an HP12C emulator on your laptop. Be statistically improvisational. Know SPSS and SAS. Know an SD from a CI and an SE from an SD. Have the Data Analysis Toolkit enabled on your copy of Excel. Presentation expertise, via whiteboard or PowerPoint. Be able to fine-tune the same presentation for an audience of analysts, then an audience of executives. Know when you’ve lost them and need to go back. An MBA—maybe. It depends on how you approached it and what you got out of it. Intellectual curiosity is the single most criteria that doesn’t come from the classroom, but from yourself. Be prepared for: Learning on the fly. You know that part in The Matrix where Trinity downloads how to ride a motorcycle? That’s kind of what we’re talking about. Organizational flexibility.
