Senior Director of Business Intelligence 

 

Our client, a leader in the Insurance and Investment Industry is looking for individuals who know how to use technology to differentiate and  bring together the best products, information and services to create a positive experience for their customers. This innovative company is looking for  a Senior Director of Business Intelligence.

 The Business Intelligence Architect is a key position within our client's Claim IT Business Intelligence team. CIBI seeks to advance and promote the effective use of business information to support the business strategy.  The key components of this organization are Data Warehouse, Metadata Management, strategic project execution, BI architecture and information delivery through analytical tools and reports.  The team is responsible for recommending, deploying and maintaining the Business Intelligence infrastructure. The BI Architect position is a high-impact role, supporting business improvement projects leveraging information technology.  This critical role has overall responsibility and accountability for the governance of Data Warehouse architecture and development.   In addition, the BI Architect provides leadership to team members to ensure teamwork and high performance and mentors the team in best practices for Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence.

Responsibilities Include: Provide technical leadership to help influence the short and longer term Business Intelligence (BI) roadmap and the direction of application projects. Participate in research, requirements definition, planning, design and execution of BI projects. Define and implement developer best practices and procedures for all BI tools and architectures. Manage customer expectations to ensure strong customer satisfaction by meeting the business needs for IT systems in a timely manner. Participate in selection of tools, software, and upgrades. Work with BI vendors on support and design issues. Provide technical oversight and subject matter expertise to BI team on key initiatives Establish, maintain and promote consistent methodology for analytics deployment Monitor the analytics marketplace of new trends, technologies and it¿s potential benefits our client Ability to provide technical architecture vision and recommend strategy/solutions



Required Skills:10 + years of Business Intelligence/ Data Warehousing/ Analytics experience Must have expert understanding and experience with building and deploying Business Intelligence and analytics applications Exceptional technology knowledge and experience in data warehouse methodologies and BI practices, including data management, data integration and analytics system architecture Experience in large data warehouse implementations using Teradata Familiar with BI tools such as  Cognos, Business Objects and/or Microstrategy Proven experience performing similar functions in complex, mission-critical projects large organizations is desired Executive presence.  Ability to comfortably and credibly present to senior vice-presidents and CXOs.  Be able to clearly articulate the value proposition of getting software built within quality, time and budget parameters. Must have Teradata Technical Architecture experience
