Payroll Tax Coordinator

Position Description·  Individual will be responsible for the coordination, communication and timely processing/monitoring of complex multi-state payrolls. ·  Will interact with the Payroll Service Provider in assuring all quarterly and annual tax processing is accurate, timely and in compliance·  Will partner with the Human Resources Department and all related internal/external clients·  Will be responsible for administering third party check processing and all payroll related reconciliations, as well as ensuring accurate and timely postings to the general ledger system.·  Will provide customer service support by producing scheduled and ad-hoc reports, and responding to internal/external audits and requestsRequirements ·  Minimum two years experience in computerized payroll processing  environment ·  Must have experience with ProBusiness preferred Service Provider – ADP/ProBusiness Tax processing/compliance ·  Professional demeanor and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality·  Proficient knowledge & understanding of federal/state payroll compliance laws.·  Thorough understanding of basic accounting principals, reconciliations and with the ability to successfully map/general ledger interface processes.·  Knowledge of mainframe system capabilities, developing ad-hoc reporting, and specialized research reports for management·  Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint with adeptness in creating ad-hoc reports to specific qualifications.·  Strong analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and customer service skills and participation in the annual departmental budget process·  Ability to work as a successful team player and to interact with all internal companies, associates and departments when needed·  Ability to work as a successful team player and to interact with all internal companies, associates and departments when needed·  Ability to gain the knowledge necessary to become the succession planning position to the Corporate Supervisor position·  Must be willing to cover the department in times of need and as a back up to the Supervisor’s position  Built on more than 30 years of expertise, The Mergis Group is a specialty recruiting firm committed to helping professionals make the best career choices.
