The Payroll Supervisor provides guidance to the day-to-day company payroll functions. The Payroll Department is responsible for coordinating with Payroll Vendors to process payroll and monitoring payroll related employee benefits. The Supervisor's duties also include addressing inquiries from Compensation and Human Resource Systems Managers, ensuring company policies are followed, and overseeing the handling of Payroll-related affairs within the organization.

 

Responsibilities:
• Provides guidance to the payroll processor(s) and work flows to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing
• Conducts final audits both post and pre payroll input with Payroll Specialist
• Processes the regular (non executive) semi-monthly payroll for all domestic employees
• Uploads bonus/commission information into payroll system
• Reconciles Payroll with ADP
• Downloads payroll entries from Payroll and prepares general ledger for Accounting
• Extracts data from ADP to generate reports needed by management
• Prepares Employment Verifications
• Responsible for the reporting of New Hires, UI Benefit Statements, Dept of Statistics
• Prepares and maintains monthly Workers Compensation reports for yearly plan audit (also OH, HI, NY separate plans)
• Prepares 401K report and outgoing wire along with journal entries for accounting
• Coordinates with appropriate internal and external partners for annual audits; Workers Comp, 401(k), financial, etc.
• Assists Payroll Manager on projects relating to automation and streamlining of process and procedures for both PR and HRIS; continues to look for ways to improve service
• Completes assorted projects designated by Senior Management as Corporate needs change and evolve

 

Qualifications:
• 5+ years experience in electronic payroll processing for payrolls of 1000+ employees
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Accounting background preferred
• Experience in dealing with ADP PCPW, ADP ReportSmith & ADP HR Perspective
• Knowledge of all federal, state, and other regulatory agencies laws for payroll-related compliance
• Knowledge and experience with multi-tax jurisdictions
• Excellent time management skills to ensure all deadlines met
• Attention to detail a must
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
• Excellent communication skills and customer service attitude
• Hands on experience with ADP eTime (automated timecard) or other time & attendance tracking (eg. Kronos) desirable
• Proficient in MS Excel
