PROJECT COST ACCOUNTANT -- Call (916) 564-1144Description: Volt is seeking a self-directed individual to be responsible for all aspects of the cost accounting and reporting systems for a $180M telecommunications operation located in Sacramento, CA. This person will ensure that revenue, Cost of Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory, Job Loss Reserves and Percent of Completion balances are properly recorded, controlled and presented to Sr. Management. * Setting up and closing projects in the ERP system.* Preparing journal entries, cost and revenue accruals, % of completion adjustments & corresponding reconciliations. * Coordinate and hold periodic project meetings with the Vice Presidents/ Directors and their staff on project related issues. * Assist in the preparation of the operations budget, quarterly/annual financial audits and help document internal corporate cost accounting procedure manuals. * Work closely with accounting, audit, operations personnel and management. * Minimal Travel Required: 25% - 30%Must utilize best practice methods and, wherever available, ISO 9000 and TL9000 quality standards and guidelines appropriate to the task. Requirements: Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:* Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar is required from a accredited 4-Year University is required* 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience is required. * Strong knowledge of job/construction cost accounting is required. * Excellent technical financial skills with a wide view toward business applications* Proficient in MS Excel and reasonable understanding of MS Access* Strong systems skills in database management using Excel & MS-Access.
