Manager, Technical Accounting Advisory Services

We are currently seeking a Manager to join us in our Orange County office. The Accounting Advisory Group (AAG) comprised of individuals focusing on technical accounting and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting matters in a transaction oriented environment. The group focuses on providing project-specific technical advisory services for our clients. The team supports the development of white papers and surveys, performs presentations at conferences, and serves as media contact to promote firm positioning. Responsibilities: * Provide timely advice on transactions that require complex technical accounting analysis to audit and non-audit clients, investment bankers, and private equity investors * Deliver technical support on engagements in a rapid-paced environment with shifting priorities * Effectively communicate and present technical information to KPMG engagement teams, senior client executives, attorneys, and private equity investors * Research and interpret complex structures and related accounting literature including the use of internal and external resources * Participate in the development and promotion of new services * Monitor changes in the accounting and reporting environment, evaluate the significance and impact of the these changes for the Transaction Services (TS) practice and their clients, summarize changes and their implications in a clear and concise manner, and discuss their affects on the TS practice and their clients * Prepare written communications including white papers, news articles, and position papers and develop questionnaires, practice guidance, and presentations * Develop and deliver complex technical presentations to audiences with a variety of backgrounds Qualifications: * Five years of experience with a public accounting, advisory services, financial services, or Fortune 500 organization * Licensed CPA or CA * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Strong project management and accounting skills * Strong working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations, FASB pronouncements, and technical accounting literature * Able to travel KPMG offers and supports flexible work arrangements as well as part-time schedules.
