We are currently seeking a Tax Manager to join us in our Hartford office. KPMG's State and Local Tax (SALT) practice needs more members for their Income Franchise team. KPMG's SALT practice assists clients as they work to reduce their tax liabilities and enhance the bottom line. As a national practice, SALT is committed to bringing some of the best professionals to each engagement and providing dynamic tax services to clients. Responsibilities: * Manage and deliver Sales and Transaction Tax and Income/Franchise projects * Supervise, mentor and develop staff members * Assist with the targeted marketing of service offerings and initiatives in the Hartford, Connecticut and Boston marketplace * Assist in maintaining high levels of staff efficiency * Assist in business development efforts and support various practice goals Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or a related field of study from an accredited college/university * Five years of experience in the following areas: Connecticut and multi-state income tax; sales tax, and sales and use tax * Strong client relationship skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and research applications * Excellent legal writing, analytical and organizational skills * Possess technical proficiency in sales tax and income/franchise KPMG offers and supports flexible work arrangements as well as part-time schedules.
