International/Revenue Accountant for Second Life

Overview:
The International Accounting Manager will serve as the central point of contact within the US entities for Linden Lab's expanding Finance operations in Asia and Europe. This person will liaison with the regional office managers to ensure that monthly and quarterly close responsibilities are completed on a timely basis in accordance with US GAAP. Additionally, this person will help coordinate budgets and analytics related to these locations to ensure that budgets are completed timely and within reasonable limits. This position will help resolve regional technical and complex accounting issues and will provide Finance support and guidance to local management in conjunction with local personnel. This position will also help define and implement processes and policies in these areas. This person will also contribute to the diligence review and integration of future new and acquired international entities.

This person should be an expert in technical accounting regulations, and will be asked to provide guidance throughout the organization related to technical accounting, including to executive management.


Responsibilities:
In charge of the consolidation of all entities in a timely and accurate manner according to US GAAP through collaboration with the regional teams in Europe and Asia. Serve as the US point of contact for international accounting, responsible for understanding and interpreting the performance of the various regional locations.In charge of managing the tax compliance (domestic and international) with the outside service provider. In charge of the Revenue, A/R and Deferred Revenue monthly close on a consolidated basis, including the preparation of the related roll-forward analyses and A/R reserves.Coordinate with local staff to resolve accounting issues and to ensure that support is provided to regional executive management.Coordinate with local staff and Corporate FP&A to develop budgets and various financial analysis.Help implement a cash forecasting process to ensure that foreign entities are properly funded according to the needs of each location. Coordinate the funding of the foreign entities where necessary.Ensure that statutory auditors have been engaged and that statutory audits are completed on a timely and accurate basis. Review compiled audit reports for reasonableness.Drive the adoption of standardized global accounting processes in international locations. Help ensure consistency amongst the locations where practicable. Participate in the implementation of Sarbanes Oxley compliant processes and procedures in foreign based acquired entities.Work with KPMG to understand the requirements of the accounting literature and to implement changes to existing US GAAP based processes and standards. Coordinate with internal parties, including executive management, in explaining the impact of changes.Provide technical accounting support throughout the organization on international as well as some domestic issues. Research and document accounting issues, relevant accounting guidance, and company's conclusions. Help drive the global adoption of technical accounting conclusions.Ad hoc projects and responsibilities, including M&A projects and general finance support to all business functions.


Requirements:
Five or more years of overall accounting experienceAt least three or more years of experience with a Big Four accounting firm, this requirement is a MUST HAVE!Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, CPA/MBA preferredExperience working with rapidly growing companies preferred but not required
