WellPoint is the nation's leading health benefits company serving the needs of approximately 28 million medical members nationwide.Financial Operations Analyst Lead*this position will be filled in Woodland Hills, CA The Financial Operations Analyst Lead will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of data integrity possible by analyzing data and providing new processes, system enhancements and technical solutions to complex business issues. Essential duties to include, but are not limited to: Define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain new software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications. Designs, implements, and maintains new, moderately complex databases. Oversees the technical design, development, and maintenance of existing databases and master files.  Ensures performance and resolves problems, analyzes and projects long-range space requirements on all databases and other applications.  Interfaces with IT areas as needed and documents and tracks any needed system enhancements within the Finance department. Assure proper conversion or shutdown of legacy systems by developing and documenting enterprise solutions for successful transition to core processing systems.  Train end users, as needed. Provide decision support and procedural input to ensure that processing efficiency does not compromise internal control mechanisms.  Maintain documentation of all exceptions and communicates to ensure accuracy of data.  Direct activities of lower-level analysts/specialists.  Performs other duties as assigned.The ideal candidate will have:BS/BA in Information Technology, or equivalent, required.  BS/BA in Accounting or Finance is preferred.  MBA degree or CPA, CMA, CFA or applicable professional designation preferred. Applicable Microsoft Certification(s) preferred. 5+ years experience in a finance/health insurance field capacity required. 3-4 years demonstrated experience working in or with SQL, MS Office with emphasis in Access, PeopleSoft, Business Objects, or other advanced reporting tools required. Knowledge of health products, benefits and systems including, claims, membership, billing, Data Warehouse and Financial systems required. Proficient with mainframe and client server report writers required. Strong problem solving, conceptual, and analytical ability required. Demonstrated financial analysis, data analysis and reporting skills required. Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills required. Strong customer service skills required.  Organizational skills are mandatory. Salary range is $65,000 to $75,000 with a 10% bonus target
