Description: Our Financial Analysis and Process Reengineering group is a relatively new group at the FAA that was created to bring private sector financial and analytical skills to Government. As part of the FAA’s Air Traffic Organization, we serve as an internal consulting group to help the FAA run more like a business. Our group is responsible for financial modeling, forecasting, estimating, and analysis.
We are a team of highly motivated individuals with mixed educational backgrounds including MBAs and undergraduate majors in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, and Industrial Engineering. Our group develops financial, labor, and staffing models to evaluate various alternatives in managing the resources of the FAA. We hire talented individuals with experience ranging from summer intern to senior financial analyst.
The ideal candidates would have some or all of the following:
· The desire to develop and design complex financial and decision support models using various software applications
· College course work in finance and experience in using various Excel spreadsheet based modeling techniques (e.g. Lookups, Pivot Tables, If statements, Macros, etc.)
· Experience with financial modeling, profit and loss (P&L) forecasting, variance analysis, labor analysis, regression analysis, or capital budgeting
· Experience with a variety of modeling tools, spreadsheets, simulations, and evaluation techniques
· The desire to work within a dynamic team and with members of other organizations
· The ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and support task groups when necessary
· The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
· Experience with creating and delivering Powerpoint presentations to diverse audiences
· An interest in the field of aviation or air traffic control
