JOB INFORMATION Company: US Airways Location: Tempe, AZ Job Category: Accounting/Finance/Insurance Industry: Accounting and Auditing Services;Financial Services CONTACT INFORMATION Red ID: IRC27853 FUNLIMITED FREE FLYING as a Pricing/Yield Management Analyst ANALYSTS FLY FREE, TOO!!!!!!The international and domestic pricing and yield management analysts are charged with managing and maximizing revenue on a subset of US Airways’ flights worth approximately $250 million annually.  Analysts develop and implement inter-departmental revenue-maximization strategies through rigorous quantitative analysis of: historical passenger demand, the changing competitive environment, and consumer-buying behavior.  Working together, the pricing analyst represents US Airways on the front-lines of the competitive pricing battle waged daily between the nation’s airlines, while the yield management analyst forecasts passenger demand by market segment and optimizes seat allocations for each market segment across the entire flight network using US Airways’ state-of-the-art Revenue Management system.  Analysts are also expected to present original analyses and strategies to senior management, design departmental business processes and work on other ad hoc projects related to the airline’s strategic goals.  Mastering this job will lead to a thorough understanding of the core economics that drive the airline industry and position the analyst for transfer/promotion to other business units within the airline. JOB REQUIREMENTS BS/BA degree.  Recommended fields of study include: economics, mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering, finance, etc.Demonstrated analytical skills, including ability to assemble information, extract pertinent facts, draw logical conclusions, and present recommendationsInterest in optimization problem solving, economic game theory, consumer buying behavior, and competitive marketing strategiesInnate curiosity; a drive to understand how things work and how they can be improvedDesire to take ownership of job responsibilitiesWillingness to take calculated risksRefined PC skills (Microsoft Office, Oracle Discoverer, SAS, etc.) To be considered for one of these opportunities please visit our web site at http://www.usairways4jobs.com/MONS*US Airways is proud to be an equal opportunity employer*For your privacy and protection ,when applying to a job online:Never give your social security number to a prospective employer,provide credit card or bank account information,or perform any sort of monetary transcation.
