Analysts develop and implement inter-departmental revenue-maximization strategies through rigorous quantitative analysis of: historical passenger demand, the changing competitive environment, and consumer-buying behavior. Working together, the pricing analyst represents US Airways on the front-lines of the competitive pricing battle waged daily between the nation’s airlines, while the yield management analyst forecasts passenger demand by market segment and optimizes seat allocations for each market segment across the entire flight network using US Airways’ state-of-the-art Revenue Management system. Analysts are also expected to present original analyses and strategies to senior management, design departmental business processes and work on other ad hoc projects related to the airline’s strategic goals. Mastering this job will lead to a thorough understanding of the core economics that drive the airline industry and position the analyst for transfer/promotion to other business units within the airline. JOB REQUIREMENTS BS/BA degree.
