Divisional Accountant (I-Sr.)
Tucson Electric Power, one of Arizona's leading utility companies, is seeking a detail-oriented professional with strong project management skills to fill the position of Divisional Accountant (I-Sr) at the Springerville Generating Station. Located near the beautiful White Mountains in northeastern Arizona, the Springerville Generating Station operates three coal-fired units with a fourth unit currently under construction.
Springerville is a small town community located near the beautiful White Mountains in northeastern Arizona at an elevation of approximately 7000 feet. This area is noted for it's four seasons and year round activities; including hunting, fishing, snow skiing, hiking, mountain biking and more. Presenting an excellent opportunity for those who enjoy living in a small-town environment, yet within 30 minutes of Sunrise Ski Resort and 3-4 hours from Flagstaff, Phoenix, Tucson and Albuquerque.
The primary responsibility of a Divisional Accountant (I-Sr) is to perform the research, classification, analysis and evaluation of financial and other related accounting transactions for the station. The selected individual will analyze transactions on various account relationships, evaluate alternative means of treating transactions, prepare periodic journal entries and reports, and other assignments as requested, in accordance with standard accounting principles and FERC guidelines. This position will also advise management and other departments on accounting matters and train others as needed.
Requirements:Requires Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum of 24 units of Accounting. Possess a comprehensive knowledge of applicable policies and procedures, Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable/Payroll Accounting/General Ledger; and related reporting and regulatory requirements. Must have a high level of organizational skills with excellent analytical and communication skills; proficient computer skills (using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint), and must be able to provide exceptional customer service.
Candidates must pass all qualifying tests, interview, background check, physical exam/drug screen, strength and agility. We offer a competitive salary (commensurate with experience) and comprehensive benefits package. Salary Range will depend on level of experience.
