SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY: (Summary of job duties) Assist the Credit & Collection Manager in carrying out the functions of the department. Review, process and resolve customer deductions in timely manner. Work with other departments and or employees in conjunction with resolving deduction issues. Prepares deduction report on a periodic basis.

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Analyze and determine nature of deductions in timely manner.

· Resolve deduction issues in timely manner.

· Interface with Customer Service, Sales, Warehouse, Traffic and Pricing on issues that impact credit, i.e. order processing/invoicing, pricing, rebates, allowances, contract pricing, returns, inventory, sales and marketing programs/new accounts.

· Process approved accrual related deductions to rebate journals in timely manner.

· Ensure accurate posting of approved deductions to rebate journals.

· Prepare periodic deduction report for management in timely manner when necessary.

· Back-up to do other tasks in the department as designated by the department’s manager.

· Exercise accounting control and confidentiality over every information processed.

·  Adhere to company attendance and punctuality policy.

·  Adhere to company’s time clock policy.

· Performs other job duties as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Understanding of basic accounting principles. Knowledge of credit principles and credit law a plus. Must be experienced working with computers and have the ability to learn, navigate and use designated software programs as required to perform job functions. Must be proficient in excel, word and other Microsoft office products. Self-starter, well organized with ability to prioritize workload and work independently and effectively in a multi-tasking environment with minimal supervision. Must be able to work independently and have the ability to interact positively with others within the department and organization. Must have hands-on experience performing customer account analyses and reconciliation

 

 

REQUIRED TRAINING: (Required training not desired) In addition to the following, all new employees are required to attend New Employee Orientation. Microsoft Business Solutions Software; Excel and Microsoft Word; supervisory training.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: College level of courses in Accounting & Credit required. Three to five years of relevant experience in the field of credit and collection management a plus.

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. Includes heavy phone and computer work. 70% of time are spent behind the desk; 30% of time are spent interacting with other departments.
