Cost Accounting Manager
COST ACCOUNTING MANAGER
SUMMARY:Ownership of worldwide inventory valuation and control, including physicals, disposals, and transfers. Review and analyze worldwide inventory write offs. Review the manufacturing costs, variances, and inventory reserve for all entities, and oversee adjusting entries to manufacturing costs as part of the monthly accounting close process. Ensure global compliance to cost procedures and updating and communicating cost procedures, as needed. Drive global cost issues and ensure global consistencies for actual processes to the procedures. Oversee quarterly global cost roll up process and coordinate to ensure final approval of rates, including the presentation of the rates to senior management. Manufacturing database owner of all manufacturing tables, manufacturing locations, analysis, exdeption reports. Coordination with IT as needed. Provide support in forecasting of variances for Fall Contract, Spring Update and Rolling forecast. Support business in cost projects, to ensure continued improvement in cost processes and efficiencies, and savings, worldwide. Provides training, support and leadership to cost accounting staff at production operations.
EXPERIENCE:
7 years of progressive cost accounting experience and two years of Management
experience in a high volume manufacturing environment. CPA / CMA will be a definite
advantage. ManMan experience as well as international experience is a plus.
EDUCATION:
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business; MBA will be a plus.
NOTE: There is an opportunity for the right candidate to be based either in San Diego, CA or Hong Kong. If based in San Diego, it will require up to 40% travel (International).
