Corporate Controller
The Controller provides direction for the financial operations of the corporation, including treasury and accounting functions. Establishes and implements corporate financial policies, procedures, long-range goals, strategies, and structures. Provides administrative and technical direction to all financial operations to insure accurate corporate financial data.
Job Duties:Manage, direct and audit all internal accounting activities within accounts payable, accounts receivable, and customer billing: Review and revise existing accounting processes and procedures; create, and announce new procedures as needed for WCC to meet generally accepted accounting principles.Establish and document month end procedures and the entire closing process.Responsible for monthly General Ledger account reconciliationsCoordinate and manage annual external audit and tax package.Create and manage a complete audit trail with supporting documentation for all tax reports.Completes monthly, quarterly and annual compliance reports (GSA, WSCA, FCC).Communicates with appropriate personnel (co-workers, subordinates, and management) regarding financial operations – (follow-up on assignments, delegation of work details and other assigned tasks).Observes the rules of strict confidentiality in all corporate business matters.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Must be a self-motivated professional who is organized and detail-oriented Strong written and verbal communication skills a mustMust be able to handle a demanding workload and schedule with deadlinesMust be able to assess staff to build a top performing departmentWork well within a team environment as well as independentlyPossess excellent computer skills.Must be knowledgeable in accounting practices with practical, hands-on accounting experienceProven ability to manage a staff to consistently meet required reporting and recurring deadlineMust have general ledger and financial statement presentation knowledge. 3+ years of previous experience as an Accounting Manager required.
