Compliance Project Leader

Job Category:  AAccounting/Finance/Insurance Type:  Full Time, Employee Minimum Education:  Bachelor's Degree Compliance Project Leader  Responsible for monitoring financial processes of Company’s Service business units to ensure ongoing and reliable compliance regarding internal controls, governmental requirements, accounting practices and group policies. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: 1.  As the specialist of Global Compliance team, manage ongoing monitoring program by developing and executing standardized procedures which :a)  Ensure business processes adhere to defined internal control objectives, governmental contracting requirements, prescribed accounting practices and policies, b)  Ensure  that system procedures are effective for the accurate calculation of inventory and cost of sales; maintain control of product costs and inventory valuation,  align with company policies; maintain controls over inventory movement and ensure the integrity of the perpetual inventory system; 2.  Accountable for facilitating the development of best practices regarding internal controls, and compliance with governmental contracting regulations and policies.   3.  Provide individual assessment reports and monthly status updates to the Global Compliance Manager and Group Controller. 4.  Refine and maintain risk model to comply with quarterly and annual objectives 5.  Evaluate internal control self assessment documentation from business units and provide feedback.  Facilitate resolution of major internal control issues within and ensure that issues are brought to closure. 6.  Enhance and maintain training with regard to internal controls, governmental contracting regulations and policies for different levels of management. 7.  Actively engage with the Internal Audit Compliance group to support remediation of all audit issues and ensure ongoing compliance. 8.  Develop role of liaison, problem solver, and facilitator between HQ and group Controllers in the area of internal controls, governmental contracting regulations and policies. 9.  Lead advocacy on behalf of the Group Controller and Global Compliance Manager throughout company, to ensure maintenance, improvement and self monitoring of internal controls, and compliance with defined internal control objectives, governmental contracting requirements, prescribed accounting practices and policies. 10.   Support Global Compliance Manager by performing other tasks assigned as necessary. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a CPA or CIA required.  Minimum of 7 years of progressively more responsible assignments working in a large, multi-national environment Strong background in cost accounting, Federal Government contracting requirements and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Systems & Service business processes SOX or compliance testing Understanding of GAAP, COSO, FCPA and risk assessment practices Understanding of the technical aspects of accounting and financial reporting Familiarity with Federal contracting terms, pricing certifications,  compliance expectations, Experience in managing multiple projects and working with various levels of personnel. Exceptional relationship-building, communications, and collaboration skills, creative problem-solving, and drive for results.  Ability to interpret statistical data and trends Ability to generate/find alternative effective solutions to problems/opportunities,  Ability to travel approximately 35%,  Knowledge of SAP ERP system Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint Also prefers expertise with Notes, Risk Navigator, Visio Contact UsManagement Recruiters of Elgin, Inc., Inc. 472 N.
