CONTROLLER - Call (916) 564-1144Description: A long-time client of ours has charged us with recruiting for them a CONTROLLER. This organization offers a prestigious name, a VERY competitive salary and a future! The right individual leads all facility accounting and analysis. Responsible for month-end, quarter-end and annual closing process. Provides management reporting schedules and financial analysis to support the schedules and provide insight for the Sacramento location. Ensures an adequate system of internal control is maintained, mitigating inherent control risk. Ensures financial reporting is prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Develops financial goals for the facility with input from other staff disciplines. Directs and manages all accounting and financial functions for the facility through the effective use of direct reports in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Ensures complete and accurate financial reporting over cost performance, inventory control, general accounting processes, and all other financial activities. Oversees and directs all general ledger accounting activities including maintenance of the accounts and monthly reconciliations. Ensures items are correctly classified and all reporting is prepared in accordance with GAAP. Maintains adequate control procedures over all accounting and financial activities. Provides guidance to ensure that needed internal accounting controls are in place to protect company assets. Ensures Sarbanes Oxley compliance. Leads all SAP financial activities. Actively manages career development of direct reports, reviews performance, provides coaching, counseling, and mentoring as required to increase performance. Requirements: *Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance REQUIRED. *Graduate level degree in Accounting or Business Administration (MBA) PREFERRED.* Years of relevant experience: 10 years at senior managerial level with broad financial, cost accounting, factory accounting, SAP and other information systems, and supply chain responsibilities. *CPA/CMA a plus.* Strong proficiency in use of SAP and other financial and in-house software.* Expertise in managerial financial reporting and analysis.* Solid experience in preparing financial statements.* Expertise in financial forecasting and budgeting.* Must have strong planning, organization, and problem solving skills* Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.* Must have proven leadership skills with ability to build trust, provide direction, drive alignment and execute with excellence.* Proficient in GAAP and SOX requirements.Working ConditionsNormal office environment with less than 5% travel. Some work required on factory floor, which requires the wearing of standard safety equipment.
