Assistant Regional Controller - GOLF INDUSTRY
My client, a world class leader in the golf industry located in Scottsdale, is seeking an Assistant Regional Controller to join their corporate accounting team. In this role, you will oversee 10-12 golf properties each of which has its own property accountant. Key responsibilities include facilitating the monthly closing of the property financial statements by reviewing monthly closing packages and preliminary statements prepared by property accountants. Designs and implements financial and operational controls to ensure that managed properties are operating in accordance with the company's standard operating procedures. Assists in the preparation of the properties' annual budget, periodic forecasting process, and other internal reporting needs. Identifies and analyzes significant variances from budgeted results and participates in the development of updated annual projections. Implements policies and procedures of the property accounting function, including compliance of company standards relating to quality of produces and services. Manages department members including staff, senior, and property accountants. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Conducts internal auditing programs.Bachelors Degree in Accounting required. Ideal candidate will be a Senior Accountant with 3-5 years' recent experience managing multiple clients in a public accounting firm who is looking for an opportunity to join a world class leader in the golf industry. Other suitable backgrounds include 5+ years' experience managing the accounting function for residential, commercial, or retail property management. Will have experience interacting with all levels of management and be open to traveling to various properties throughout the US as required (10-15% periodic travel, approximately).
