Assistant Director, Finance & Operations

A moderately sized synagogue in West Hills, CA is seeking a well qualified individual for the position of Assistant Director, Finance & Operations.  The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of duties including:

Daily Operational Accounting

·         Accounts Receivable including collections

·         Accounts Payable

·         Create and disseminate weekly & monthly financial charts and reporting

·         �Run rate� reports

·         Aged accounts receivable reports

·         Income & expense analysis

·         Assist the Executive Director with general operations

We are looking for a candidate with a ‘can-do’ spirit in addition to outstanding customer service skills and an excellent working knowledge of basic accounting and bookkeeping principles.  You must also have proven skills in MS Office application suite (Excel, Word, Outlook & Access), and experience with “Quickbooks� or equivalent accounting packages.  Experience with “Chaverware� is preferred but not required.  Verbal and/or written Hebrew and Spanish skills are a plus.

This position reports to the Executive Director of the organization.    The general working hours are Mon.-Thurs. 9:00-5:00 and Fri. 9:00-3:00.  This is a full time, salaried position with excellent benefits, including U.S. Federal holidays, Jewish holidays, access to group medical benefits, paid vacation.  Salary range is $35,000-$40,000.
