Washington Mutual is looking for a talented person that is ready to apply their skills in the exciting area where credit risk management projects focuses both on system and analysis designed to support corporate profitability, growth, and loss mitigation goals. Track risk performance, and develops forecasting models. Montitors and reviews empirical models, and designs and tracks acquisition and account management strategies.   This position has an extensive and specialized knowledge in the following areas: Credit Principles & Policies Regulatory Requirements Banking & Financial Services Products and Processes Project Management Methodologies Technical System and ApplicationsIn addition to requirements defined for the II level, also includes the following:Familiar with VBA, VB, and SQL Programming Languages Provide guidance to the examination / extraction of data through the building of client-based queries as needed for reporting Identify deficiencies in database / modeling environment and execute corrective action to remedy Familiarity with profitabilty and growth metrics and concepts to aid in the formulation of business strategiesDemonstrate ability to: Key resource in the development of programs, processes, or tools Conduct highly complex analyses Develop senior Leadership recommendations Make decisions that have a very broad effect Lead large complex projects Present complex/technical information to variety of audiences Implement and refine models to analyze and evaluate portfolio risk Lead complex initiatives involving multiple business lines and third-party providersJob responsibilities:Peforms highly technical, complex and/or sensitive analysis. Advises management on data interpretation for operating or strategic plans Translates end-user data and report requirements into pgogramming requirements. Validates business logic to ensure that it meets end-user requirements Identifies and explores new ways of meeting user requirements, choosing from a wide variety of query and reporting tools (e.g. Access, Extract, SQL, VBA, and Vb programming). Strong SAS skill required Leads complex initiatives or projects relating to any aspect of credit risk strategies Provides direct peer leadership to analysts throughout the credit risk organization ensuring minimum quality standards Participates or leads engagement of other business areas to develop strategies or processes where credit can support profitability, growth or other business goals Bachelor's degree required Master's degree preferred 10 years of credit, mortgage operations and/or mortgage analystics related experience Five years experience performing progressively responsible job duties in a banking or loan based financial services environment as an Analyst II or equivalent level job Or an equivalent combination of education and/or experienceWashington Mutual is an equal opportunity employer.
