Accounts Receivable Clerk/Cash Application Specialist

Summary:
Under the direction of the Financial Services Manager, the Cash Application Specialist posts cash from the lockbox, bank and branches on a daily basis. Also assists with answering phones and other credit department functions including some collection calls.
Essential Responsibilities:
v Apply payments to customer accounts.
v Set up cash accounts and credit accounts once approved by Financial Services Manager.
v Review cash logs prepared at the branch locations.
v Receive and process credit applications for parts/service and rental customers according to established procedures.
v Work closely with Credit Specialist and assist to research/resolve over and short payments and unapplied cash.
v Make soft collection calls.
v Fax credit references to customers.
v Provide excellent customer service.
v Assist with other credit functions as needed.
Qualifications:
v High school diploma or GED and a minimum of one year of related experience preferably in an office or accounting function required.
v Basic Windows, Excel and Word computer skills required.
v Basic bookkeeping knowledge is required.
v Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines.
