Accounts Payable Specialist

Shelton, CT  (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)

 

We are looking for a candidate to be responsible for the administration of all Accounts Payable and Rebate functions to include the following: 

 

Vendor Invoice Vouchering – Vouchers all invoices using proper accounting controls to ensure accurate recording of expenses.

 

Payments to Vendors/Vendor Inquiries – Generates a weekly check run and makes sure all checks are properly matched.  Maintains the integrity of the A/P files.  Researched old outstanding checks.  Addresses vendor inquiries swiftly and courteously.

 

Rebates – Works with Sales Department to ensure all rebate programs are current.  Calculates and issues checks or credit memos on a timely basis.  Resolves rebate related charge backs.

 

Month End Close – Assists by balancing the subsidiary ledgers of Cash Disbursements and Vendor Invoices and posting to General Ledger.  Runs month end reports. 

 

To qualify, the candidate must possess a four (4) year college degree in Business, Accounting or Finance, in addition to two (2) years prior accounting/accounts payable experience.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.  Data entry experience necessary.  Candidate must be detail oriented with strong communication skills, problem solving skills and organizational skills.
