We have an immediate opening in our accounting department for an Accounting Systems Analyst to lead or assist in the development of automated accounting processes; identify & document internal financial controls; participate in our voluntary implementation of SOX 404; and develop accounting policies in accordance with GAAP.

Job Requirements:

BA/BS in Accounting, MBA preferred.  CPA required. Strong knowledge of SQL, Excel, and Access required.

Seven years' progressively responsible work experience within Finance, Audit and Accounting.  Responsible for the development and maintenance of accounting systems all financial software systems. Directs the development and implementation of financial software systems, policies, plans and programs.Designs and implements processes and systems to meet the objectives of the department.Leads project teams to purchase and implement new software and to reengineer existing processes. Responsible for the identification and resolution of system related internal control issues.Participates in the implementation and maintenance of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 4.04 compliance.Ensures the integrity of the architecture of all financial systems.Ensures that the designed output of accounting systems conform to regulatory agency and federal and state regulations, standards, guidelines and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Assists the Manager, Financial Systems and Cost Accounting in the planning, direction and coordination of Accounting and Finance related software systems and the documentation of internal processes and controls.Remains abreast of regulations and reporting objectives outlined within  Statements of Position from the AICPA,  NCUA Accounting  Manual, NCUA  Rules  and  Regulations  and  Generally Accepted Accounting  Principles (GAAP). Determines the impact of related rules, regulations and pronouncements and recommends  appropriate  changes to accounting systems  and/or  departmental  procedures.Represents Accounting Department on project teams organized to design modifications to existing systems, to resolve system problems and to assess the impact of  new  products or  corporate procedures on departmental  financial systems and procedures.Keeps informed of new ideas and developments through publications, membership in professional organizations and contact with other financial institutions. Reviews competitive market practices and makes recommendations concerning adjustments to programs in related areas.Develops policies, procedures, and applicable training materials for new departmental processes. Performs the duties of a Senior Staff Accountant as needed.
